Social Game Hotel · Kaupungintalon Aukio · Vaasa
Hotellyvora is the region's only private-island social game hotel — velvet game salons, suites built for the sunset, and a kitchen that treats the lake as its pantry.
The Game Lounge
The Lyvora game lounge spans two levels beneath a glass ceiling built for sunset-watching: a main salon of table and party games, and a quieter upper tier of private rooms for members and long, unhurried play.
Forty tables fill the main salon, tended by hosts trained at our own game academy. Grand chess, draughts, backgammon, dominoes and a wall of modern board games run from late afternoon until the small hours, alongside a nightly rotation of trivia, charades and story games that draws the whole island together.
The Lyvora Card Room hosts friendly evenings of bridge, rummy, hearts and mahjong — always for the joy of the game, never for money — and is the home of the annual Lyvora Cup, a four-day social tournament each autumn that has become the region's most warmly contested gathering.

A collection, not a floor
Our house collection numbers a hundred and forty games, from heirloom chess and hand-painted card decks to modern strategy and cooperative board games — every one chosen for how it plays across a long, candlelit evening. Guests keep track of nothing more than good stories; playful leaderboards use only Lyvora points, which carry no cash value and are never exchanged for anything but a good-natured trophy on the mantel.
Quieter guests will find nooks for two by the water, while whole families gather at the long oak tables for game nights that run until the kitchen sends out the last plate.
The Lyvora Circle
The Lyvora Circle is our private membership tier, joined by invitation or by a season of good play, granting access to four glass-walled salons on the upper tier of the game lounge — each named for a shade of the evening sky: Amethyst, Veil, Rose and Ribbon.
Members are assigned a dedicated game host for the length of their stay, arranged private transfer by launch or helicopter, and priority tables across all four restaurants. Membership also opens the members-only Rose & Ember spa suite, a private cinema, and a cellar within Ember & Oak reserved for Circle guests and their friends.

Each of Hotellyvora's restaurants draws directly from the waters and forests around Kaupungintalon Aukio, from the tasting counter at Violetta to the late-night cellar at Ember & Oak.
Violetta ("little violet") is Lyvora's fourteen-seat tasting counter, built around a single nightly menu that changes with the seasons of the lake. Expect char cured in juniper, slow-roasted venison with cloudberry, and a dessert course drawn entirely from birch, wild rose and hand-harvested honey.
An open-fire grill built around a two-hundred-bottle cellar, Ember & Oak serves dry-aged regional beef, whole roasted lake trout, and a charcuterie programme cured on-site in the resort's own cellar — the same cellar that gave Lyvora Manor its early trade.
Koi & Blossom pairs a traditional sushi counter with lake and forest ingredients rarely seen in Japanese cuisine: cured herring nigiri, smoked whitefish temaki, and an omakase built around the resort's own smokehouse. A late-night menu runs until 2am for guests drifting out of the game salons.
"The kitchen treats the lake as its pantry, not its backdrop."
Above the restaurants, the Violet Hour Bar serves cocktails and alcohol-free botanicals built around lake herbs — sea buckthorn, birch sap and wild rose — until the last game in the salon is done.
Suites & Villas
Lyvora's 68 suites and villas are spread across four wings and a row of standalone shoreline villas, each oriented using the resort's own twelve-year sunset-visibility survey.
46 sqm rooms facing the sheltered eastern channel, with a private balcony and a stocked minibar of regional treats.
70 sqm suites with a retractable glass ceiling panel above the bed, engineered for sunset-watching on clear nights.
The original 1994 manor's top floor, now a single 205 sqm penthouse with a private sauna and a dedicated butler.
Six standalone shoreline villas of up to 320 sqm, each with a private jetty, plunge pool and dedicated host.
Entertainment
The 700-seat Blossom Theatre, its interior carved to resemble an opening flower, hosts Hotellyvora's resident production, Violet Hour: A Lake Spectacle, an aerial and acrobatic show staged nightly and built entirely around the colours of the northern dusk.
Beyond the theatre, the resort's live-music lounge hosts jazz and chamber ensembles most evenings, while each autumn the Lyvora Cup brings a warm, four-day social-game festival to a temporary stage on the lounge floor, drawing friendly players from across the region.
Wellness
Built around contrast therapy in the true Nordic tradition, the Rose & Ember Spa pairs three wood-fired saunas with a granite-cut plunge pool fed directly by the lake's cold water, along with a heated mineral pool for guests seeking a gentler routine.
Treatments draw on regional ingredients throughout: birch-tar body scrubs, cloudberry facials, and a signature ninety-minute Lyvora massage using warmed river stones. The relaxation room looks directly out over the channel where the violet dusk is most reliably seen on clear nights.
